Voluntary Agreements

While the use of voluntary agreements to achieve resource and environmental policy objectives is common in Europe and not unknown in Canada, the agreements are usually between government and industry, not industry and industry. The Alberta Pacific approach has already attracted the attention of researchers, but this research will be the first attempt to assess it from the point of view of policy design and to determine the appropriate role for government in such arrangements.
