Comparator Jurisdictions

Resource land use conflicts are not unique to Alberta, nor to Western Canada. Other jurisdictions have had similar or analogous problems and have experimented with a variety of tools, techniques and policies for resolving them. This project will therefore examine integrated land use management efforts in other jurisdictions in North America and elsewhere in order to determine (a) the similarities and differences between Alberta government efforts and those of other governments and (b) if, and to what extent, Alberta can learn from the experiences of these other jurisdictions.
